Emerald islands in turquoise waters, a fantastical abundance of fish and dark granite rocks on white sandy beaches. Your dream personalised sailing experience awaits you. Discover untouched nature and sparkling beaches on your catamaran rental in Seychelles.
Thanks to the moderate winds, short distances and pleasant sea temperatures, you can easily island-hop with your family and friends.
The Seychelles archipelago is between the fourth and tenth degrees of latitude south of the equator and is known to be one of the most beautiful sailing regions in the world. Hardly any other sailing region offers comparable natural beauty, diversity and exoticism as this archipelago, which is situated off the coast of East Africa. Discover this unique sailing region with a catamaran rental in Seychelles and explore secluded bays and beautiful sandy beaches.
Seychelles is composed of the Inner and Outer Islands, which are made up of 115 smaller islands. The Inner Islands are more popular amongst sailors, however, it is certainly possible to go on trips to the Outer Islands.
The Inner Islands are made up of 41 granite islands and two low-lying coral islands (Bird Island and Denis). At the centre of the group are the main islands of Mahé, Praslin and La Digue. Smaller islets such as Sainte Anne, Cerf, Curieuse, St Pierre, Île Cocos, Cousine and Cousin are within easy sailing distances.
The natural beauty of the islands is certainly one of the main reasons for a catamaran rental in Seychelles. Almost half of the island's surface is protected and is home to exotic species of flora and fauna. If you are lucky, you will see the impressive giant tortoises during your sailing trip, which live in colonies and are protected. In addition to its unique nature, Seychelles is the perfect place to enjoy a wide range of leisure activities. Explore the history of Mahé island on a shore excursion and visit the historic centre of Victoria, the capital of Mahé. Botany lovers will find what they're looking for at the Botanical Garden in Victoria. Hot tip: Seychelles' many diving spots. The clean water and ideal diving conditions ensure perfect dives and spectacular underwater sights.
Eden Island Marina is located near Victoria (the island’s capital) and offers everything you can expect from a modern marina. The capital is also the best place to buy provisions for your catamaran rental in Seychelles, as there are several larger supermarkets, as well as a colourful market for fresh fish, fruit and vegetables.
If you are starting your catamaran rental in Mahé, you can start your sailing trip with a detour to the nearby Marine National Park around the island of Sainte Anne. The national park was established in 1973, making it the oldest marine national park in the Indian Ocean. You can even dive under the water and discover 150 different species of fish.
You will need to allow a few days to navigate Mahé's 44 nautical miles of coastline. A popular berth for the night, with magnificent views of Silhouette Island 12 nautical miles away, is Beau Vallon Bay in northwest Mahé's. Several bars and restaurants on the beach provide varied evening entertainment.
Continuing a little further west to Baie Ternay, you can moor your catamaran rental at one of the mooring buoys laid out by the national park administration and explore the fantastic underwater world with a snorkel. Occasionally, glass-bottom boats from nearby Beau Vallon come to give their guests a view of the coral.
Port Launay provides excellent protection from the wind from all directions during your holiday. The bay has a dreamy view of the sublime Morne Seychellois mountain (905 metres).
On the west and southwest coasts of Mahé, there is a wide variety of other enchanting bays and anchorages, such as Anse Takamaka or Anse Intendance.
The island of Praslin is only about 23 nautical miles east of Mahé. During your catamaran rental in Seychelles, discover the famous Vallée de Mai, where the legendary Coco de Mer can still be found. For an extended shore excursion on Praslin, it is a good idea to anchor the catamaran in Baie Sainte Anne, the island's main town. From here, you have the option of taking the bus to the Valleé de Mai or stocking up in the small supermarkets of Sainte Anne.
While you are in Seychelles, be sure to head for the beaches of Anse Lazio and Anse Kerland, which are among the most beautiful beaches in the world. You can also stopover on St. Pierre, a small island off the coast of Praslin. The enchanting "Robinson Island" consists of a bizarrely eroded granite block, in the middle of which a cluster of large palm trees sway gently in the wind. The perfect Seychelles backdrop for breathtakingly beautiful holiday pictures.
There is also a base on Praslin with gorgeous catamaran rentals that we are happy to offer you.
When sailing in Seychelles, you should note that:

Seychelles Airport (SEZ) is located on the main island of Mahé.
The taxi ride to the Eden Island Marina takes approximately 15 minutes. You can get to Praslin with a so-called "island hopper" from Air Seychelles. The flight takes about one hour. The taxi to the Baie Sainte Anne base takes roughly 20 minutes. If you don't want to fly, you can also take the Cat Cocos ferry from Mahé to Praslin. The crossing takes about an hour and takes you directly into Baie Sainte Anne.

If you so desire, you can peel coconuts, grill breadfruit, and experience other typical local activities.
Black Pearl Farm
In Amitié you can visit the Black Pearl company and its three attractions: the killer mussel farm, the pearl farm, and the black pearl shop. Take advantage of this unique opportunity to see more than 40,000 giant clams and learn about their feeding. Black pearls are cultivated here on the first and only pearl farm in the Indian Ocean. The shop offers jewellery and other exotic creations made from the farmed Seychellois 'Black Lip Oyster'.
Plantation House, La Digue
The Plantation House is one of the oldest colonial-style plantation houses, of the few that still remain in Seychelles. It belongs to L'Union Estate and is built in the French colonial style, with a thatched roof supported by poles and rafters. The stairs on all four sides of the building are a special feature of these structures.
Anse L'Union, La Digue
A gigantic granite monolith is located on the land of the L'Union Estate on Anse L'Union beach on the west coast of the island. This rock is considered a national monument.
Curieuse Island
Venture to Curieuse Island and marvel at the contrast between the red earth on its slopes and the lush, green vegetation. Go ashore in Baie de La Raie at the park ranger's headquarters, where hunchbacked parrotfish and giant turtles frolic in the water. The path from Baie de La Raie to Anse José leads through thick mangrove forests and is one of the most spectacular locales on the island. The house of a former leper colony's doctor in Anse José has been transformed into a fascinating museum as an example of Creole colonial architecture. Sea turtles lay their eggs here on the beach. Diving in the coral garden or at Pointe Rouge is a must, as is a snorkelling trip to St Pierre.
