boat hire in Almere · Vd Stadt — 41 Norman Deck Saloon (2001)
Description of Roland's sailboat
Vd Stadt - 41 Norman Deck Saloon | 3 Cabins
We sail depending on the customer's wishes. This could be a fully arranged romantic trip, accommodation for the walkers, sailing or navigation lessons. Sailing ship Swaene was launched in 2001 and is a Dutch design by Van de Stadt Design. The type is a Norman 41. It is a very robust and stable ship with a lifting keel with bulb!; The heavy bulb keel makes sailing very comfortable and the lifting keel allows you to anchor or sail in shallow waters. You can sit outside in the spacious sheltered cockpit. Thanks to the deck saloon, you can also choose to enjoy the view inside when it is raining or cold. Sustainability: We sail under sail as much as possible. For light weather when there is little wind, we also have large sails on board so that we can continue sailing even when there is little wind. When the engine needs to be started, we use environmentally friendly GTL instead of diesel oil if possible. The diesel heater has been replaced by a gas heater and we heat electrically in the port. Roland is the owner of the ship Swaene and also the instructor. In his younger years he served in the merchant navy as a marine engineer. There he obtained his Major Commercial Shipping Diplomas. Roland has experience on oceans and rivers and is used to sailing on oceans with a catamaran and 40+ cabin sailing boats, even in less favorable conditions. Roland's passion; Introducing people to sailing. Whether this is on the ship Swaene or on the owner's own ship. I am happy to help with winter and summer preparation and provide sailing instructions at all levels. The starting point is that owners get to know their ship better and therefore enjoy their ship more.

the boat is ok, but the captain - this is where the value is!!! It was great time, some challenging weather, a lot of good experience, nice talking and sightseeng:))
A lot of ‘mis understanding’ that lead to hidden costs. Yacht was not prepared mechanically nor stocked prior to departure 🤔 No sleeping arrangements nor details of limitations were discussed, one bed had so little headroom, that it felt like sleeping in a coffin ⚰️ Not enough details were shared of condition of water prior to sailing ⛵️ leading to poor water conditions many water plants 🌱 obstructing sailing, so much so that we were stuck for a long time and not clearing these underwater ‘forests’ restricting any movement of the yacht 🙈 Knowledge, that was known by the skipper, but not shared nor discussed, or avoided🙈 One option would have been to discuss with the client and possibly arrange sailing ⛵️ in more appropriate waters 🤔
