Nice is beautiful. It is the perfect sailing location. North is Less traveled and more beautiful but south is St Tropez. We found going north was best for children. If you sail from Beauleau-set-mer it will be hard to find a taxi. Uber works best and gives you the best rate.

Stephane and Virginie are excellent, laid-back hosts. This was definitely the highlight of our trip. They took us to a few wonderful swimming holes, gave our daughters sailing lessons and were so warm, funny and hospitable. A great way to experience the Cote d' Azure! We will be back....

Hire a Private Yacht in Nice with Scansail

Welcome to the capital of the French Riviera! Located in southern France, Nice is a beautiful town with natural beauty and many cultural activities. Nestled between the mountains and the Mediterranean Sea, it is filled with so many beautiful spots that attract tourists from all over the world. With a private yacht hire in Nice, you can enjoy the likes of delicious gastronomy, beautiful beaches, stunning hiking locations and luxury resorts. Above this, you can use your private yacht hire to travel around the French Riviera and discover even more stunning places around the coast such as Marseille and Saint Tropez. So, what are you waiting for? Find the right yacht for you on Scansail!

How much does it cost to hire a private yacht in Nice?

There are various factors that affect the overall cost of a private yacht hire in Nice. For instance, the price can fluctuate depending on the seasonality, the duration of the journey, the size of the vessel and the yacht type. Thus, a day in a RIB for six people during January will be a different price than a week-long voyage on a gulet for 15 people during July. Below are the average prices according to yacht type.

Sailboats

£4,783 per week

Motorboats

£2,695 per week

RIBs

£3,010 per week

Catamarans

£12,600 per week

Gulets

£19,348 per week

What is the best time to visit Nice?

Thanks to its location in the south of France, Nice has a Mediterranean climate. With an average temperature of 22 degrees Celsius, you can navigate in Nice throughout the year. The best time to visit Nice is during the summer when there is warm weather and long hours of sunshine. Therefore, you can soak up the sun and then cool off with a dip in the pristine waters. However, be aware that July and August are peak seasons in Nice, so if you want to avoid dense crowds, visit around these months.

Should I hire a private yacht with or without a skipper?

As you explore the range of yachts on Scansail, you will find that many come with the option to include a skipper. While it is not mandatory, there are many benefits to having a skipper on board with you. For example, a professional skipper will take care of all the sailing, mooring and anchoring. This means that you can focus on relaxing while they handle all the technical aspects of navigation. Furthermore, your skipper will be familiar with the waters around Nice, so they can show you the best it has to offer. This includes hidden secrets that tourists don’t know about such as hidden coves and secluded beaches. Ultimately, a skipper will ensure that you have a safe and luxurious experience.

What to do in Nice?

One of the most lovely routes along the coast of Nice is the Promenade des Anglais. It stretches across around seven kilometres and offers a terrific view of the azure waters in the Gulf of Nice. Otherwise, you can wander along the charming streets of Nice. Get lost in the centre, making sure to admire the artisanal boutiques and colourful houses along the way. In particular, you can stop at the Cours Saleya market. Depending on the day and hour, you might stumble across vibrant flowers, rustic antiques or a plethora of fresh fruits and vegetables.

Nice is also known for having beautiful beaches that are suitable for families and friends. Our main recommendation is to navigate along the coastline and discover what beaches you are more enticed by. You can always moor your private yacht in the Port of Nice and embark from there. Here is a list of our favourites:

  • Bamboo Beach
  • Blue Beach
  • Beau Rivage Beach
  • Castel Beach
  • Neptune Beach
  • Voilier Beach

Set sail for the Lerins Islands, a small archipelago just across Cannes and around 40 minutes from Nice. You can island hop between the two main islands: Sainte Marguerite and Sainte Honorat. On Sainte Marguerite, you can take in all the lush beauty of the natural forest reserve. The beaches on this island have a peaceful atmosphere thanks to the small crowds and heavy greenery. Sainte Honorat is the smaller of the two islands and is inhabited by monks. This island has a rich cultural and historical heritage that is a must-see for anyone visiting. If you want to expand your knowledge, you can visit the Saint-Sauveur chapel or Trinity chapel.
