This VOR60 was designed and built to race the 2001-02 Volvo Ocean Race, the crewed round-the-world race. This racing sailboat is a high-performance, extreme boat, a Formula 1 of the seas with very Spartan comfort. This demanding and powerful unit is aligned with offshore racing starts, rated in IRC 0 (Rolex Fastnet Race, Armen Race, Tour de Belle Ile, Rolex Middle Sea Race, Voiles de Saint-Tropez, RORC Transatlantic Race, Caribbean 600… ). Extremely seaworthy and fast, this large 65-foot monohull is designed for the open sea. Skippered by four professional sailors, it carries 10 crew members in offshore racing. For sleeping and catering on board, it’s the bare minimum! 14 bunks, a gas stove and a toilet. The navigation station is located aft, under the cockpit. On deck, double helm station and double columns of winches for the grinders! Hydraulics and ballasts complete the power on board. At the front, you will be spoiled for choice: staysail, J1, J2, genoa, large genoa, asymmetrical spinnaker, symmetrical spinnaker. The mainsail is “full batten” Clearances, local taxes and possible shipping costs are extra. Mandatory options (excluding race navigation programs): Skipper + second + shift manager: €880 the first day then €800 per additional day.
