“Als schippersdochter, geboren en opgegroeid op een woonboot in Tiel, voel ik mij nergens zo thuis als op het water. Begin 2022 ben ik samen met mijn gezin van Apeldoorn naar het watersportdorp Zwartsluis verhuisd. Al gauw ontstond het plan om een eigen boot te kopen. Niet alleen voor privégebruik, maar ook een boot die geschikt zou zijn voor de verhuur. Uiteindelijk is de keuze gevallen op een pettersloep, die in 2023 geheel naar wens samengesteld en gebouwd is. Zo is de sloep voorzien van diverse extra’s waaronder een tafeltje met bekerhouders. Naast varen wilde ik namelijk ook catering aan boord verzorgen, in mijn ogen een perfecte combinatie. En met mijn achtergrond en opleidingen in de horecabranche een logische stap. In 2023 heb ik Pico Bello Varen opgericht en heb ik na jarenlang in loondienst gewerkt te hebben nu de vrijheid en mogelijkheid om mijn eigen koers te varen".
