Sailing Conditions in the Bahamas

You can visit The Bahamas all year long! But when it comes to sailing you want to have ideal conditions! January to April is the best time to set sail. Enjoy constant dry and warm weather during the winter season where the highs are in the 80s°F, and they never fall below 60°F.

Starting in May/June, temperatures start to climb towards the 90s°F and the rainy season begins. If you are looking to relax and stay away from the crowds, avoid July/August. September is the start of the off-season, however, beware of possible bad weather as it's prime hurricane season.

The trade winds in the Bahamas also referred to as the Alizé, are gentle winds that blow throughout the year. From July to September, winds grow stronger with the rain and this area is susceptible to hurricanes, making the conditions less favorable for a Bahamas sailing vacation.
